Veterans Support Governor Beebe for Re-election

Little Rock – Today, Governor Beebe was joined by a group of American Veterans from around the state to announce the “Veterans for Beebe” coalition.”I am honored to have the support of these veterans and others around the state,” said Governor Beebe. “I have said many times that Arkansans will take care of our people. I will continue to stand up for all the men and women in uniform serving today and all those who have returned home.”

“For Arkansas veterans, the choice is simple,” said Colonel Charles Singleton, who introduced the Governor. “Mike Beebe is the best choice to be our next governor. He stood up for Arkansas men and women serving in uniform and now it’s our turn to stand up for him. ”

As a State Senator, Attorney General, and Governor, Mike Beebe has been a strong voice for Arkansas veterans.

  • Governor Beebe broke ground in September on a new Veterans Cemetery in Birdeye, near Cherry Valley.
  • Governor Beebe supported and met critical capital needs at the Little Rock veterans’ home.
  • In the State Senate, he introduced legislation that created the state Veterans’ Cemetery System.
  • In the State Senate, Mike Beebe voted to exempt service pay from state income tax for our National Guardsmen and reservists called into active federal service for Operation Desert Shield.
  • Mike Beebe stood up for our veterans’ widows, ensuring they receive homestead and personal property tax exemptions should they re-marry and become widowed again.
