BEEBE ENDORSED BY FRATERNAL ORDER OF POLICE

(Little Rock) – Today, Governor Mike Beebe received the endorsement of the Arkansas State Lodge of the Fraternal Order of Police.

“I am honored to have the support of the Fraternal Order of Police,” Beebe said.  “Working together with the officers on the front line of protecting our State, we have been able to fight drugs and crime here in Arkansas. I will continue working with our law enforcement officials to make greater improvements and keep our streets safe for our children.”
“Governor Beebe’s track record speaks for itself,” Sgt. Allen Hamby, President of the Arkansas Fraternal Order of Police said.  “He is the most experienced and best qualified person to serve Arkansas as Governor.”
Mike Beebe has been a longtime advocate for Arkansas’s law enforcement officials. As Attorney General, Mike Beebe took action to fight methamphetamine, moving pseudoephedrine behind pharmacy counters. In 2007, Governor Beebe signed into law a measure to create a system for Arkansas’s law enforcement officers to track purchases of pseudoephedrine.
With more than 325,000 members in more than 2,100 lodges across the United States, the Fraternal Order of Police is the world’s largest organization of sworn law enforcement officers.
Governor Beebe was also endorsed by 73 of the state’s 75 sheriffs.
